Windermere & Ambleside Lions Club presented a cheque this week for £400 to Lakes Riding Club.

The Lakes Riding Club is representing Great Britain on behalf of the British Riding Clubs at the World Club Tournament in France at the end of July 2018.

The team will be the only British representatives at this prestigious International Equestrian event.

The team comprises Helen Westmoreland-Nicholson (team leader), Robyn Bowness, Charlotte Salisbury and Sarah Robinson (not in the photo).  They take their own horses/ponies sailing from Dover to Calais and thereon driving through to Limottie Beuvron in mid France so they have a very long drive in front of them

They will be in France for about a week and at last year’s event there were over 10,000 riders !

The Windermere & Ambleside Lions Club is pleased to support this fantastic local sports team and we wish them the very best luck in the competition!
