This month i have started writing the Blog with Lion Baby Quinn on my lap - he is dictating the content of this Blog into my ear - therefore i think this will be the most intelligently written and eloquent Blog posting yet! Here is a picture of our new president:   I (Chris Burstow) am The Vice President ("The Veep") this year - so will be be trying to prize the gavel out of Philip's fingers this time next year! In…

Flying low super heroes – April meeting

Trevor from Essex joined us this month. Trevor is up staying at the New Dungeon Ghyll and has been a Lion for many years. Under apologies we had Maggie, Elsie, Chris Amos, Chris Burstow, Andrew and Laura. But then we decided that Chris Burstow should not be apologised for because he didn't give it to anyone. We moved on to the minutes of the last meeting and Chris Burstow walked in. He had very tight clothing on and special gloves. Very sweaty too. I can only assume that he has been out fighting crime before coming. Under correspondence we only had one piece which was an invite to an open day at Alice Escapes caravans which the club have been a big supporter of. Income wise we got some money…

Bunting, sparkly bags and mushy peas – March report

The Club opened with a welcome to Ivan our District man. Apologies were received for Chris Amos and Elsie. Several members gave apologies for Young Chris. The minutes of the past meeting were amended by Peter. Something about trailers but I didn't quite catch it. Under correspondence we had a letter from Chris Amos, which was strange but nice. He was updating the club on where we can have future meetings. Whilst he hadn't managed to get in contact with the right person at the Hydro he had contacted Windermere Hotel and found a potential solution with the Windermere Town Council Chamber. A brief discussion ensued about our plaque that we have outside the Hydro and how we should really get a nice new one. It was resolved that Anthony…

Old Chris hid chocolates and thats not nice at Christmas

Old Chris didn't think it was 7.30pm but Ben and Steve did so the meeting started. Lisa, Laura, Maggie and Andrew sent their apologies and the only amendment to the minutes was that the hotel isn't the Burnt Howe but the Burn Howe. Under correspondence we received a few very nice Christmas cards including from some of those who received logs from the club. We heard from the Ings and Staveley Parish Council regarding the play ground monies we donated and the club will be invited to the opening. The club also heard from Low Wood Bay hotel thanking the club for their work at the Spirit of Christmas event. We've been invited to the official opening of the Sight Advice South Lakeland event. Miss Money Penny told us about…
