Become a Lion – We Need You !

Become a Lions Club Member

People tend to have a pre-conception about the Lions Club that it is only for old wrinklies who sit around and do nothing but moan – the “old boys club” – but this is not true (well not all the time anyway!).

As a Lions Club Member you’ll join a local group of service-minded men and women of all ages who volunteer to support your community every day. You’ll also become a member of Lions Clubs International – a respected international organisation, a leader in your local community, and a friend to people in need.

The Windermere & Ambleside Lions Club currently has a vibrant atmosphere – currently with 12 members – and we are always looking for new volunteers to join our pride.

We currently consist of 9 men and 4 women – with hopefully another women joining our club in the next couple of months to even us out a little bit. Our youngest member is in their early thirties, and our small group achieves great things.

In 2017 we have raised in excess of £20,000 for local charitable causes – through the events that we organise, events that we attend, and through generous donations from individuals and local organisations. Just think what we could achieve together with more members!

The time commitment for being a Lions Club member can be whatever you choose – we have a monthly business meeting at the Windermere Hotel, and have various fundraising events, activities and socials throughout the year. It is a rewarding pastime and it looks great on your CV!

We need you!

We are always looking for new Lions Club members – so if you are interest in a chat about what its like to be a Lion in Windermere & Ambleside’s Club then please do get in touch – https://lakeslions.co.uk/contact
