The 2017 Jingle Bell Jog is taking place on 17th December 2017 - and is now open for entries www.lakeslions.co.uk Let’s paint the town red, green and white and kick off the festive season by getting the whole family dressed up as Santa’s, Elves, Reindeer, Christmas Puddings, Snowmen, Fairies – or anything Christmassy – and Stumble, Walk, Jog or Run around a flat and scenic course in Bowness on the shores of Lake Windermere! A Summer of Giving to Some Very Worthwhile Local Causes

Windermere and Ambleside Lions Club have recently been distributing some of the funds raised over the summer months. A donation of £250.00 was made to the Birchall Trust and a similar amount to the Tarn Hill Trust that looks after the children’s playground at Sawrey. Freedom Wizard, a charity running special all terrain mobility scooters benefitted with £500.00 as did Alice’s Escapes who provide holidays for terminally ill children. The main donations were from the proceeds of the Lakes Classic Vehicle Show held at Grasmere in June. On a visit to the Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team base by Lion President Philip Fell and other Lion members cheques for £4000.00 each were presented to Nick Owen, leader of the LAMRT and to Michael Lafferty the chairman of Blood Bikes Cumbria.…
